At least 700 households in Chikwawa District have been affected by rains and flash floods that began on Sunday evening and persisted through Tuesday, leading to widespread house collapses across several traditional authorities. Preliminary assessments show that, the affected areas include group village head Malemia, Mateyu, Matelekera, Tizola 1, Tizola 2 and Ojesi.
